Is it possible to feel good when I am not feeling well?
Can I find peace within myself despite my difficulties?
Is it okay to disagree with the way things are?
Living Compassion creates a loving layer around whatever is happening in the moment. It tries to see everything as life energy and to accept all experiences beyond our judgments. Instead of resisting life, we surrender to its flow and truly experience it. This means practicing surrender and acceptance instead of giving up and resisting—both on the meditation cushion and in everyday life.
Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is deeply rooted in spirituality, which is often felt and seen, even if Marshall did not always explicitly name it. Robert Gonzales, a longtime companion of Marshall’s, focused particularly on the spiritual aspects of NVC and developed his approach, Living Compassion, from it. This approach empowers people to access the ever-present resources of NVC and find inner peace and freedom through acceptance (not resignation) of the present state.
In 2023, Robert Gonzales‘ book “The Spirituality of Nonviolent Communication – A Course in Living Compassion” was published in German. This book serves as the basis for our 7-part online course. Over seven evenings, we will delve into the seven chapters of the book, practice Robert’s teachings, and immerse ourselves in the field of Living Compassion and the spirituality of NVC.
Reading the book is not a prerequisite for the course. I recommend it, but I will summarize the chapters at the beginning of each evening. Through shared practice and exchange, we will delve deeper into the spirituality of NVC.
